Opti-Heal Silicone Foam Absorbent Dressing can absorb exudate and hold them within the dressing to decrease skin damage to surrounding tissue. The dressings are especially suitable for excessively exuding wounds. The perforated silicone wound contact layer prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound and reduces pain during dressing changes.

Specifications:

  • Four 4 x 4” (10 x 10cm) dressings

Ensure the dressing is the appropriate size for the wound. The dressing pad should be ½” larger than the wound.

Always wash hands before and after treating a wound.

Gently clean and dry the wound and surrounding skin.

Remove the dressing from the sterile wrapper.

Remove central portion of the backing films.

Place the dressing centrally over the wound site. Avoid touching the side to be used on the wound.

Remove the two remaining backing films and smooth the dressing down over the skin.

Removal: The dressing cannot be used continuously for more than 30 days but can remain in place for up to 7 days dependent upon wound condition and exudate level.

Examine wound by carefully lifting a corner of the dressing. The dressing should be changed when significant signs of exudate are visible or can be seen pooling around the edge of the pad. 
Remove dressing by pulling and slightly stretching a corner of the dressing. Gently remove the dressing from the wound bed and dispose.

Cleanse wound site as required.

Retain box for future reference.

Store in a cool dry place (41 - 104°F) away from direct heat and sunlight.

Do not use with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide.

Not to be used by people with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to the silicone dressing or their components.

If you do develop a rash or experience an adverse reaction discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Do not use this product on dry wounds alone; it can be used as a secondary dressing together with gels on dry wounds.

Do not use on infected wounds.

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use if individual wrappers are open or damaged.

Use each dressing only once. 

Do not cut the dressing, the dressing must remain intact.

Do not use after expiry date – see base of pack.

If the wound continues to bleed or becomes swollen, reddened or painful, seek medical advice. 

Each product should not be used for more than 7 days and the products cannot be used continuously for more than 30 days.
